Uxn works with a small virtual machine this is embeded in the software. This then allows for the application to be used on a variety of systems. To run the application an emulator is needed. After that there are provided games and tools that you can test out, or you can design your own. The purpose of Uxn is to tailor to the needs of hosting graphic applications. It can also be used as a release target. It's purpose is also to be able to focus on the small task that are needed unlike modern software.Uxn is meant to solve cross platform issues and to have sustainable place in human civilization/ planetary biosphere.
When I used the platform I do think they have succeeded with their goals. Their goal is to solve cross platfomr issues which they have achieved since with an emulator is can be used on many devices. It is simple to use compared to modern software. When using it all we had to do was drag the file we wanted to use onto the website. It did a good job with graphical applications.
I found it interesting of having a platform that allows for the small issues to be fixed. I think it creates a better environment for the platform. The needs of the users are more likely to be met. Unlike modern software that doesn't meet the need of users since the small issues are hard to fix. I also think it's very cool that the software is meant to be sustainable. I hope to make a game like this one day. I think my only critique is that some roms are more effective then others. I think the note pad rom was a bit glitchy. In terms of alleterations I would make the software a bit more visually pleasing.
